How to treat yourself at home?

1.Rest and sleep well

2.Drink up

Flu will leave you dehydrated, so be sure to get enough liquids, such as water, fruit juice, and warm drinks. Stay away from caffeine, because it is diuretic. Herbal teas with honey can soothe your sore throat.

You would know that from the color of your urine; it should be pale yellow or colorless.

If you are taking paracetamol or ibuprofen stop taking any  dose of it, because it affects negatively when it is taken with other medicines. You have to inform the pharmacist before taking any medicine.

Regarding antibiotics, they are not recommended, because they do not help you recover nor do they reduce the flu symptoms.

What is stomach flu?

Stomach flu deliver its own way of symptoms and pain, when it hits it can lay you there nonfunctional. The main symptoms start with chill, fever, vomiting, and diarrhea. Stomach flu has to run its course with pain and aching. There is no cure for it, but the following remedies may help you reduce the symptoms caused by it:

1.Drink fluids as much as you can, since  you lose  a lot in vomiting and sweating. Water is very good plus some herbal teas like gingers.

2.Avoid caffeine and chocolate, because they affect your sleep, and you are in need of  sleeping. Also, stay away from alcohol.

3.Knowing what to eat is really difficult when you suffer from stomach flu. However, it is recommended  to follow this diet as much as possible: Eat bananas, rice, toast, and applesauce, as they are all easy to digest, and they contain a lot of nutrients and carbohydrates that will give you the needed energy.

4.Avoid diaries in general, because milk is hard to digest, and it contains aggravate gas.

Avoid fiber because your bowels are already loose.

Avoid greasy and spicy foods.

 

How long does the flu last?

As hard and annoying as the flu can be, many people feel better in one or two weeks. The symptoms trigger us after they appear in a week, and we think we have recovered, but we are not! Children whose immune system is weak may be contagious even longer.
